Base of Hugh Cairns, V.C. memorial with inscription 'Erected by the Saskatoon Football Association and citizen's in memory of our fallen comrades 1914-1918'. Visible are some of the wreaths placed at the foot of the monument by the eight football teams of Saskatoon, visiting Scottish team, chapters of the IODE and private donations.
Unveiling ceremony took place on June 8, 1921 at 3:00 in the afternoon.
