This is a picture of Horace Greenleaf with Clifford Carriere., Horace grew up in Pine Buff with his two sisters and his dad, William Greenleaf who was a World War II veteran. Horace learned how to trap and fish at a very young age. He was also a guide for the local outfitters, but water fluctuations caused by the dam created hardship for the business and for the guides. Horace is currently 73 years old.

This is a picture of John Carriere., John grew up in Cumberland House. He started work at the age of 14, at the EB Campbell Dam. He attended school in Cumberland House, Prince Albert and Winnipeg. John has worked as a miner in Snow Lake, Manitoba, and La Ronge. Today, he still makes a living by being a trapper, commercial fisherman, and outfitter.

This is a picture of Josephine Carriere and female., Josephine was born in Cumberland House, but her mother passed away when she was only 2 years old. Her fathers, Dougal McKenzie was a fisherman as Beaver Lake and Suggi Lake. He remarried Christina Custer from Beaver Lake Saskatchewan- her father the chief, adopted the new family and gave the new family treaty status under the Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation. She is 88 years.

He moved to Nipawin to finish his high school education and from there he went on to Kelsey Institute of Applied Art and Sciences and graduated from the carpentry program as a journeyman carpenter. He takes time off work to carry on trapping, commercial fishing, or guiding.

Predators play an important role to maintaining healthy woodland caribou populations. If the balance of power shifts to favor the predator or prey, it can be detrimental for both.
