To Wm. Keating, Esq.
Dear Sir,
I received your favor authorizing ten pounds to be expended for the relief of the Indians – I accordingly drew an order in form of the new [] [] – who has kindly undertaken the disbursement. He called on me just now to state that there are about 21 families of Indians in extreme want of food and that at least twenty pounds more are requested. Will you do me the favor handing this to His Excellency, Lieutenant Governor, who will I trust expend at once an order the necessary assistance. As I will be engaged, perhaps it would be as well to address Mr. Schultz directly and [] him to []
