Abstract This article is a great summary of the overall experience had by Team Saskatchewan at the 1997 NAIG in Victoria, BC. Team Sask Chef de Mission Lorna Arcand is interviewed and mentions how well organized the Games were that year, especially with all the volunteers and families who contributed. She sends a message that it will continue to pay off in the future because healing the youth will help the communities thrive. Other notable athletes include Jesse Laframboise (Regina) who won a gold medal in boxing, Janna Pratt (Gordon's First Nation) who won gold in wrestling, and Tom Charles (Stanley Mission, SK) a six-time gold medal winner in canoeing.
