Abstract
Page from the 1921-22 Henderson Directory for the City of Saskatoon showcasing the high concentration of Chinese businesses in the area during the heyday of Saskatoon's Chinatown. This region would be demolished by the city in 1929, in part due to the dilapidated state of the buildings, but more so due to anti-Asian sentiments and racist civic policies. The Henderson Directories are located at the Saskatoon Public Library, the City of Saskatoon Archives, and this particular photo was taken from the copy held at the Provincial Archives of Saskatchewan Saskatoon Branch.
